
Nomination Process
We accept nominations for “Excellence in Fatherhood Policy and Practice” awards. MFFN annually recognizes programs and individuals who are advancing fatherhood policy and practice throughout Minnesota.
Submit a nomination for your favorite program, policymaker, or advocate. Nominations are typically requested in November/December for awards in January/February. Individuals may submit one nomination for each category. Please don’t nominate the same person/institution for more than (1) award.
Outstanding Individual: Awarded to a person who has made an outstanding contribution to the field of
fatherhood policy or practice in the state of Minnesota or in his/her local community.
Policymaker (or) Advocate of the Year: Awarded to a policymaker or fatherhood advocate who has provided leadership in support of policies / legislation affecting issues of positive fathering at local, state, or national level.
Member of the Year: Awarded to the MFFN member who has made an outstanding MFFN contribution.
Program, Coalition or Agency of the Year: Awarded to the program, coalition or agency that has made an outstanding contribution to advancing the field of fatherhood policy or practice.
Other: Workplace of the Year, Media of the Year, Visionary of the Year, etc: Individuals are encouraged to nominate other institutions/individuals that do not fit any of the categories above. Nominees should achieve a high level of support for fathers and/or for the field of fatherhood policy and practice.
